Review
An Ember in the Ashes is the first book in a series by Tahir. Rich characters with deep backgrounds whose lives become entwined by fate. A truly epic fantasy read, you’ll enjoy this book from start to finish.
Rating
Update: I decided not to finish this series after the third book, A Reaper at the Gates. I took a break from the series because the third book was so difficult to get through. In my opinion, there were too many lows and not enough wins for it to feel like anything good could come in the last book. I read a lot of reviews on the final book and found that those who had similar views to mine about the third book were unimpressed by the fourth. So, in the end, there was no reason to read it as I was no longer invested in the characters’ stories. The author just crushed them too many times.
